Basic Timeline of the PhD at GSPRE
Supervision of the PhD
You will have three primary supervisors for your PhD: an advisor, a co-advisor, and a mentor. Your advisor is your main supervisor and a member of the Faculty of Science at the University of Bern. The co-advisor reviews the project at least twice per year and assesses your mid-term exam and PhD exam together with the advisor. Your mentor, a member of the expert committee at the Graduate School of Precision Engineering (GSPRE), provides support in case of conflicts during your thesis. The mentor also chairs the mid-term evaluation and thesis defense.
